Damn - did anyone ever say it better?

Hofmann was disappointed when his discovery was removed from commercial distribution. He remained convinced that the drug had the potential to counter the psychological problems induced by “materialism, alienation from nature through industrialisation and increasing urbanisation, lack of satisfaction in professional employment in a mechanised, lifeless working world, ennui and purposelessness in wealthy, saturated society, and lack of a religious, nurturing, and meaningful philosophical foundation of life”.

First rule of noetics - first thought, best thought.

Did anyone see the History Channel documentary last week called "Peyote To LSD- A Psychedelic Odyssey" that featured Albert Hoffman (among others)? It was really fascinating and included an interview with him. It also featured Bob Weir and a big part of the soundtrack were the Live/Dead versions of Dark Star and The Eleven.
I suspect with Hoffman's passing it might be replayed. Highly recommended. Catch it if it comes back on.

I did - first thing I thought of when TB posted the incredible pic above. Well worth seeing, but I wish it had been a longer and more in depth piece. That said, does it not seem like there is a bit of a shift in public perception regarding psychedelics (or is that just wishful thinking since even the Dutch are proposing banning mushrooms)?
